Tales of a Ladykiller...
200. Jack Scott "Goodbye Baby"
Best kiss-off song in rock history.
Canadian rockabilly legend Jack Scott (known as Giovanni Scafone to his folks), over perfect slapback bass and echoing drums, delivers a farewell to a triflin' woman who done him wrong in a deep baritone so smooth and rich you can just picture him slicking back his pompadour as he turns and strolls off. There've been other great breakup songs and definitely ones that look at the scenario with more complexity, but never has "later for you, honey," been said more eloquently.
