I wonder if Herbert ever found Kosher Pickle Harry...
This bunch of Chicano teenagers from East LA took Don & Dewey's R&B gem, beefed up the guitars 'Louie Louie' style, and most importantly slow the beat down just a smidgen, allowing the rhythm section to absolutely slam the downbeat home, turning this record into one the great caveman stompers.
The simulated crowd noise (provided by the band's friends in the all-female car club called The Chevelles) would be cheesy in other circumstances, but here it's an inspired touch since this is a record designed to be listened to while drunkenly shaking your ass preferably in a room full of people doing the same.

If you dig this stay tuned, the songs only get better and we're in the meat & potatoes territory, now.
We go together is another of my favorites. I want a copy of the Farmer John LP so much. Thanks for the link, I will start searching for the album the link said they were working on in 2002.
You know I have your blog on speed dial.
